FAQs

Reiki

How does Reiki works? Reiki works by using the practitioner’s hands to channel energy into the body, helping to release stress and promote healing. The energy flows to where it’s needed most, encouraging relaxation and balance.

How does Reiki Feel? When you’ve had multiple Reiki sessions, you become familiar with the energy and how it feels. It’s truly a matter of experience. With regular Reiki treatments, you learn to recognize the energy and its sensations. Most people first notice the effects of Reiki. Feeling the energy itself can be challenging because it’s quite subtle. The Reiki energy is always the same, but the effects and experiences vary each time due to different moments and people. If you’ve never had a Reiki session, I recommend going into it with as few expectations as possible.

What can I expect during a reiki session? Each session begins with a short intake and a form where I’ll ask you a few questions to understand your needs and goals. During a Reiki session, you'll relax while the practitioner lightly places their hands on or above your body. You may feel warmth, tingling, or nothing at all. Most people experience deep calm, and a sense of peace. The session usually lasts 30 to 60 minutes.

Do I need to prepare anything before my Reiki session? You don’t need to prepare anything special for your Reiki session. Just come as you are, wearing comfortable clothes. It’s best to be relaxed and open to the experience.

Are there any side affects to reiki? Reiki is generally safe, but some mild side effects can occur, such as fatigue, emotional release, minor aches, increased thirst, or temporary sensations like warmth or tingling. These are usually short-lived and part of the healing process.

What can I expect after a Reiki session? After a Reiki session, you can expect to feel deeply relaxed and at ease. Some people experience a sense of calm, improved mood, or increased energy. You may also feel emotional release or a warm, tingling sensation. It’s common to feel more balanced and centered, and some might notice better sleep or relief from physical discomfort. Everyone’s experience is different, so the effects can vary. It's important to stay hydrated and rest after a session to support your body’s healing process.

How many Reiki sessions are recommended for the best result? This depends largely on the reason you are coming for a treatment. If you’re looking for relaxation, one session may be enough, and you can enjoy the benefits for a while before scheduling another when you feel ready. However, if you want to work on a specific issue, it’s recommended to come regularly, such as once a week or once every two weeks. This approach is more in-depth. I can’t fully predict or control what Reiki will do for you. You’ll know for yourself if you want more sessions. If so, I recommend scheduling a series of treatments consecutively.

Can children or pregnant women receive Reiki? Yes, children and pregnant women can receive Reiki. It’s gentle and safe, promoting relaxation and well-being. Sessions for children are shorter and adapted to their comfort, while pregnant women can use Reiki to reduce discomfort and stress.

Do I need to believe in Reiki? No, you don’t need to believe in Reiki for it to work. Reiki works regardless of your beliefs. It is a practice that uses energy to promote relaxation and healing, and many people experience benefits even if they are skeptical.
